We learned about how to disagree people in a proper way. Then, we simulate the situation to ask louder people in a library, and I was picked up for the simulation.
Many other international student could do almost right way even they have several mistake or habit. However, mine was totally funny for people and I got ashamed!! Although I tried to warn people, many people thoght that "it's too polite", "you don't need to bow", " you should not be modest". I was really surprised about the differences between Japanese and other people!!
Some European culture, such as Germany or Swizzerland, they are more direct than others, so they need to say less direct when they talk to other cultural people. But, Japanese are too abstract and weak to talk to others. Thus, we need to show our opinion more more direct even though we think it's rude. Because what we think rude is totally natural for some other culture.
I have been abroad for one year, but I still have Japanese behaviour a lot. Just keep good parts, then, through away strange behaviour.
